2005 – 2016: The Publisher & Broadcaster Era
- Accepted in The Innovation Hub incubation and mentorship program
- Launched a Adobe Flash based multiplayer pool games community (275k DAUs in 3 weeks)
- Launched multiple Naspers games sites – News24, Beeld & Jip
- Ran our first tournaments with DSTV’s KTV and partnered with RTL Netherlands on a Dutch games portal
- Built Flash Lite games for Nokia & Adobe and launched native mobile games on US app stores
- NBC Universal generated $1.2M in affiliate revenue in Year 1 of launch
- Rolled out cross-device platform support, setting the stage for multi-platform continuity
2017 – 2021: Telco Expansion & Subscription Gaming
- MTN South Africa drove R20M in subscription revenue in the first year of launch
- Hosted the first live brackets-based tournament events (rAge Expo)
- McDonald’s campaign delivered 10.2M game plays and 400k rewards in just 6 weeks
- Telkom SA launched loyalty-linked tournaments with GameZBoost tech (Comic Con Africa)
- Debuted HTML5 games, multiplayer experiences, and the Casual Tournament Gaming Platform
2022 – 2024: B2B + Direct-to-Consumer Growth
- Strategic launches with FNB, MoyaApp, and Ayoba — focusing on Super App integration
- Expanded player value mechanics and introduced competitive multiplayer formats
- Rolled out Head-to-Head tournaments, Quiz solutions, and Ad Tech tools
2025+: Engagement Reimagined
- Introduced branded sponsorships, advergaming solutions, and freemium-based advertising models to drive revenue — giving partners more flexibility, monetization control, and creative freedom.

Investor Milestones
- 2005 – GameZBoost is founded, with seed capital provided by Mark van Diggelen.
- 2007 – Brabys — the oldest registered company in South Africa — becomes an angel investor, supporting early growth and platform development.
- 2008 – Convergence Partners acquires Brabys’ stake and invests further, bringing venture capital backing and scaling support.
- 2016 – Tritech Global acquires Convergence Partners’ stake, marking a successful VC exit and supporting GameZBoost’s continued evolution as a leader in white-label gamification.

Since launching the first iteration in 2005, Mark has grown GameZBoost into a globally trusted white-label gaming solution, powering engagement experiences for millions of users.
With a background in digital media, gamification, and scalable SaaS deployment, Mark’s mission has always been to create ethical, accessible, and brand-aligned gaming ecosystems — from enterprise activations to community-driven experiences like student gaming clubs.
